Star Wars Podcasters Celebrate Ten Years of Ahsoka Tano

Podcasters pay homage to 'The Clone Wars' and discuss the lasting impact Ahsoka Tano has made on 'Star Wars' fandom

It’s been a decade since Star Wars: The Clone Wars first graced our screens. With the tenth anniversary of the series’ debut just around the corner, podcasters put together their tributes to the series and called on Clone Wars fans to send in their thoughts on the much-loved show and its leading female Jedi, Ahsoka Tano.

Here’s a selection of tenth anniversary podcast episodes that explore Ahsoka Tano’s journey from headstrong Padawan to Rebel leader and examine her lasting impact on Star Wars fandom.

Skytalkers – “Ahsoka’s Lasting Impact”

The first podcast on our list comes courtesy of Charlotte and Caitlin of Skytalkers and is almost two hours long, but don’t let that deter you!

Over the course of the two-hour podcast, the hosts discuss their favourite Ahsoka scenes and episodes, her relationship with her master, Anakin Skywalker, her epic showdown with her former master years later in Rebels, where we could potentially see her next, and her importance within the Star Wars mythos and fandom.

To listen to the full podcast, visit the Skytalkers site or listen to it via iTunes, Google Play, Acast, or Stitcher Radio. Just make sure you have a box of tissues handy for the readers’ letters section (which begins at around 1:24:00).

You can connect with the show’s hosts Charlotte and Caitlin over on Twitter or follow their exploits over on Instagram.

Clashing Sabers – “From Snips to Fulcrum and Beyond”

Back in mid July, Mark of Clashing Sabers and Forever Star Wars got in touch with me to let me know that he was planning an Ahsoka-centric episode and that he was looking for testimonials of what Ahsoka meant to them and how she inspired them. So I helped spread the word on Twitter and, thankfully, quite a few fans answered his call.

Mark briefly delves into the history of the show’s development – and its recent revival – before moving onto the fan testimonials. Why does Ahsoka resonate with fans of all ages and what makes her such a compelling and beloved character? This podcast episode attempts to answer both of these questions and pay homage to one of Star Wars greatest characters.

You can listen to this Tano-tastic episode through the embedded player above or over on Soundcloud. And don’t miss this companion article about Ahsoka Tano’s hero journey.

If you’d like to send Mark your feedback, you can find him on Twitter under his personal account, @djmmarquis, and if you’re looking for more great insight into that galaxy far, far away, check out the Clashing Sabers website.

Aggressive Negotiations – “The Journey of Ahsoka”

Hosts John and Matthew put aggressive negotiations aside to discuss Ahsoka Tano’s impact on the Star Wars saga and how she managed to gather a fanbase as wide and diverse as that faraway galaxy.

You can listen to the full episode over on The Nerd Party website or via iTunes. If you would like to get in touch with John and Matthew, you can find them on Twitter under their personal accounts, @KesselJunkie and @MattRushing02, as well as their podcast account, @TheJediMasters.
